Komposit Polimer Sebagai Material Tahan Balistik

Abstract

Penggunaaan material komposit polimer dalam bidang militer sangat luas. Review ini memberikan wawasan tentang material komposit polimer serta aplikasinya dalam bidang pertahanan, terutama untuk aplikasi di bidang balistik. Secara umum, keperluan militer yang membutuhkan material dengan ketahanan balistik yang baik dapat dibagi menjadi tiga kategori, yakni pakaian, helm, kendaraan dan penguat struktural. Pemanfaatan material komposit pada aplikasi militer terbukti dapat memberikan peforma yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan material logam terutama dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mobilitas dari personil pertahanan.
