Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering submitting your manuscript to Journal Rural of Development and Applied Technology. These instructions will help you prepare your manuscript so that we can move through peer review, production and publication smoothly.  

 

Introduction

Journal of Rural Development and Applied Technology is an academic journal dedicated to publishing community service-based research, particularly those that incorporate appropriate and practical technologies for rural communities. The journal serves as a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and development stakeholders to share innovations, experiences, and real-world solutions aimed at improving the quality of life in rural areas through adaptive and sustainable technological approaches.

Emphasizing the integration of scientific knowledge with the actual needs of rural communities, this journal encourages submissions that are not only conceptual but also practical and impactful. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, agricultural technology, renewable energy, rural product processing, village information systems, local economic empowerment, and technology-based innovations in education and healthcare.

Each article published in the Journal of Rural Development and Applied Technology is expected to contribute meaningfully to fostering rural independence, strengthening community capacity, and bridging the gap between technological advancement and rural accessibility. Through this publication, the journal aspires to build strong synergy between academia and society in advancing resilient, self-reliant, and competitive rural communities in the era of digital transformation.

 

Submission Checklist

Journal of Rural Development and Applied Technology is an international, peer-reviewed and open access scientific journal that provides a high-visibility forum to the scientific community for the publication of top-tier original research according to the scope of the journal.

Manuscript should be submitted through our online submission system to ensure rapid review and allows authors to track the progress of their papers. A user ID and password for the site can be obtained on first use. Manuscript and cover letter should be uploaded as Microsoft Word documents. Figures should be embedded at the end of the manuscript or separately as JPEG, GIF, TIFF or EPS files. 

Note: Papers will not be considered for review and will be returned to authors if the completed cover letter is not sent to the Editorial Assistant. 

First time users must be registered first before submitting a new manuscript. The submitting author takes responsibility for the paper during submission and peer review. If for some technical reason submission through the online submission system is not possible, the author may contact the editorial office for help via e-mail (p2d@office.itb.ac.id or anindyadeby@gmail.com).

 

Plagiarism and AI Screening

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Rural Development and Applied Technology undergo a rigorous screening process to ensure academic integrity and originality. Each submission is checked for plagiarism using reliable similarity detection software to identify any potential overlap with previously published works. Manuscripts with a high level of similarity or indications of improper citation will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, in accordance with the journal’s ethical standards.

In addition to plagiarism checking, the journal also implements AI-assisted content screening to evaluate the authenticity and quality of the submitted work. This process aims to ensure that manuscripts reflect genuine scholarly contributions, demonstrate critical analysis, and maintain coherence consistent with academic writing standards. Submissions that are found to rely excessively on unrefined AI-generated content without proper validation, interpretation, or author contribution may be subject to revision or rejection.

Through these measures, the Journal of Rural Development and Applied Technology is committed to upholding high standards of publication ethics, promoting originality, and ensuring that all published articles provide credible and valuable contributions to rural development and applied technology practices

 

Manuscript

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Rural Development and Applied Technology must comply with the journal’s submission requirements and formatting standards. Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts in clear and concise English, using formal and scientific language appropriate for academic publication. Submissions should present well-structured arguments, supported by relevant data and references, and must reflect originality as well as meaningful contributions to community service and rural technology development.

The length of the manuscript is limited to a maximum of 10 pages, excluding the reference list. Authors should ensure that the content is focused, well-organized, and adheres to the prescribed structure outlined in the journal template. All submissions must be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) to facilitate the review and editing process.

Manuscripts must strictly follow the journal’s official template, which will be provided separately (here). Submissions that do not conform to these guidelines may be returned to the authors for correction prior to the review process.

By adhering to these requirements, authors help ensure a smooth review process and contribute to maintaining the quality and consistency of publications in the Journal of Rural Development and Applied Technology.
