Abstract

Abstrak. Paper ini memperkenalkan penggunaan Metoda Elemen Hingga Diskrit untuk menyelesaikan persamaan gelombang panjang. Metoda ini tidak memerlukan matrix dengan ukuran yang besar. Pada metoda ini perhitungan variabel pada suatu elemen hanya memperhitungkan pengaruh variabel pada elemen yang berbatasan. Formulasi persamaan pengatur pada elemen hingga digunakan prosedur Galerkin,sedangkan penyelesaian differential waktu digunakan metoda prediktor-korektor dari Adams-Bashforth-Moulton. Model dicoba untuk mensimulasikan propagasi gelombang panjang pada suatu kanal dimana solusi analitisnya sudah tersedia. Hasil model numeris terlihat sangat mendekati solusi model analitis.

Abstract. This paper introduces Discrete Finite Element Method (DFEM) to solve long water wave equation. This method reduce the size of matrix significantly.In this method variables in an element are computed by only considering variables in adjacent elements. Time derivative is solved using Adams-Bashforth-Moulton's predictor-corrector procedure.The model had been tested to simulate long wave propagation in canal with constant depth where analytical solution is available. The comparison between analytical and numerical solution are in excelent agreement.
