Abstract

The basis of activity based modeling is a travel decision that part of the activity scheduling process. Travel requests occur due to the participation of household activities by workers and non-workers outside the home and the time spent while doing these activities until returning home. The purpose of this study is to obtain a model of participatory activity by workers based on the duration of activities, knowing the relationship between exogenous variables and endogenous variables and the relationship between endogenous variables due to the presence of exogenous variables. This study consisted of 16 exogenous variables and 6 endogenous variables for workers. The research area covers all sub-districts in Banda Aceh City. The survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires with home interviews, known as Stratified Random Sampling survey method. To obtain the results, the authors use the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) model exploratory factor analysis (EFA) using AMOS statistical software. The results of EFA for workers in mandatory, maintenance, and discretionary activities indicate that the exogenous variable that is dominantly influential is the purpose of the trip, affecting directly, positively, and significantly towards endogenous variables. This means that the duration of individual activities depends on the purpose of the trip. While the relationship between endogenous variables has a direct, negative and significant effect.
