Responsible and Transparent Authorship
Authorship reflects substantial intellectual contributions, approval of the final manuscript, and accountability for the published work. JICTRA promotes transparency in authorship and recognition of individual contributions.
01 Authorship Criteria

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception or design of the work; acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data; drafting or critical revision of the manuscript; and who approve the final version and agree to be accountable for the work.

Key Authorship Criteria
Intellectual Contribution
Substantial contribution to study conception, design, data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation.
Manuscript Preparation
Drafting or critically revising the manuscript.
Final Approval
Approval of the final version of the manuscript.
Accountability
Agreement to be accountable for the work.
02 Author Approval and Consent

All listed authors must approve the manuscript before submission and must agree to its publication.

03 Acknowledgement of Contributors

Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.

Contributor Recognition
Contributions that do not qualify for authorship should be recognized in the Acknowledgements section of the manuscript, as appropriate.
04 Prohibited Authorship Practices

JICTRA does not permit guest, gift, honorary, or ghost authorship.

Unacceptable Authorship Practices
Guest Authorship
Including an individual as an author despite not meeting the authorship criteria.
Gift Authorship
Granting authorship as a favor or personal benefit without qualifying contributions.
Honorary Authorship
Assigning authorship based solely on seniority, position, reputation, or institutional status.
Ghost Authorship
Omitting an individual who made qualifying contributions to the work.
Changes in Authorship
Procedures and requirements for changes to the author list
05 Requests for Authorship Changes

Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors must be submitted to the Editorial Office with a clear explanation and written approval from all authors.

Required Documentation
01 A formal request submitted to the Editorial Office
02 A clear explanation of the proposed authorship change
03 Written approval from all authors
06 Authorship Changes After Acceptance

Changes in authorship after acceptance are strongly discouraged and will only be considered in exceptional circumstances. JICTRA reserves the right to reject an authorship change when adequate documentation or consent is not provided.

Important Notice
Requests for authorship changes after manuscript acceptance are considered only under exceptional circumstances and remain subject to editorial approval.
07 Author Contributions Statement

Authors are encouraged to provide an Author Contributions Statement, preferably using the CRediT Contributor Roles Taxonomy.

The CRediT taxonomy provides a structured approach for describing individual contributions to scholarly work.

Examples of contributor roles:
