Journal of ICT Research and Applications
Supporting Transparency and Reproducibility in ICT Research
JICTRA supports transparency and reproducibility in ICT research. Authors are encouraged to make supporting research data, code, models, protocols, and other relevant materials accessible whenever legally and ethically possible.
Research Data and Reproducibility Framework
Research Materials
Supporting data, source code, algorithms, software configurations, trained models, protocols, and other materials needed to reproduce research results.
Data Availability Statement
Research articles should clearly indicate where supporting data and research materials can be accessed.
Responsible Data Sharing
Data sharing must respect applicable legal, ethical, confidentiality, privacy, intellectual property, and security restrictions.
Research Record Retention
Authors must retain sufficient research records to permit verification when questions regarding the work arise.
01 Transparency and Reproducibility

JICTRA supports transparency and reproducibility in ICT research.

Reproducible Research
Transparency in research data, computational methods, and supporting materials facilitates independent verification and reproducibility of reported scientific results.
02 Availability of Research Data and Materials

Authors are encouraged to make the data, source code, algorithms, software configurations, trained models, protocols, and other materials necessary to reproduce the reported results available in recognized repositories whenever legally and ethically possible.

Research Materials Encouraged for Sharing
01. Research Data
Data supporting the findings and conclusions reported in the manuscript.
02. Source Code
Code used for data processing, analysis, simulation, or implementation.
03. Algorithms
Algorithms and computational procedures relevant to reproducing the reported results.
04. Software Configurations
Relevant software settings, configurations, and computational environments.
05. Trained Models
Trained computational or machine-learning models supporting the reported findings.
06. Research Protocols
Relevant procedures or protocols necessary to understand and reproduce the research.
07. Other Supporting Materials
Additional research materials needed to reproduce the reported results.
03 Data Availability Statement

Research articles should include a Data Availability Statement indicating where the supporting data or materials can be accessed.

Example Data Availability Statement
"The data and supporting materials associated with this study are available in [Repository Name] at [Persistent URL or DOI]."
This is an illustrative example only. Authors should provide accurate repository information and access links relevant to their research.
Repository Information
When research materials are deposited in a repository, the Data Availability Statement should identify where the relevant materials can be accessed.
04 Restrictions on Data Sharing

Where data cannot be publicly shared because of privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, security, contractual, or ethical restrictions, authors should clearly state the reason.

Possible Restrictions on Public Data Sharing
01 Privacy restrictions
02 Confidentiality restrictions
03 Intellectual property restrictions
04 Security restrictions
05 Contractual restrictions
06 Ethical restrictions
Example Statement for Restricted Data
"The data supporting the findings of this study are not publicly available due to [specify the applicable restriction]."
Authors must specify the actual reason for the restriction. This example does not establish a general exemption from data-sharing responsibilities.
05 Research Record Retention and Verification

Authors must retain sufficient records to permit verification of the research if questions regarding the work arise.

Responsibility for Research Verification
Authors are responsible for retaining adequate research records and supporting documentation to allow verification of their work when questions arise regarding the reported results.
Core Data Availability and Reproducibility Principles
Transparency: JICTRA supports transparent and reproducible ICT research.
Research Materials: Authors are encouraged to share data, code, algorithms, trained models, protocols, and other supporting materials.
Recognized Repositories: Supporting materials should be made available through appropriate recognized repositories whenever legally and ethically possible.
Data Availability Statement: Research articles should explain where supporting data or materials can be accessed.
Responsible Data Sharing: Restrictions on public sharing should be clearly explained.
Research Verification: Authors must retain sufficient records to enable verification of their research.
